Diamonds...A girls best friend.

Within the last year I have had a lot of friends and people I graduated with get married or engaged.

Crazy, I know!

Seeing everyone take the next big step in life really gets you to thinking about when you will take that next step.
Or at least that's what it does to me...
So I thought it might be fun to have a post on diamonds and engagement rings.
What different diamond cuts mean, maybe where they originated, what they say about the person.

So enjoy :)

Heart
This is a century-old shape, symbolizing love and devotion.
This says you are sentimental and dreamy.

Pear
Resembling a teardrop, a pear-shaped diamond has the fire and beauty of a round shape, but with a less conventional look. This shape can also make a wide finger look slimmer.
This choice says you are even-tempered and adaptable.

Oval
If you love the gorgeous sparkle of a round, brilliant-cut diamond but still want something unique, consider an oval. A fresh take on a timeless style, this new shape came about in the early 1960s.
This choice says you are risk-taking and creative.

Asscher
Square with angular corners, this shape dates back to the late 1800s. If you look closely, you’ll see that it’s step-cut, meaning the facets are rectangular and seem to descend into the stone.
This cut says you are feminine and meticulous.

Round
Also known as brilliant-cut, this tried-and-true shape reflects more light than any other, and is the most popular.
This choice says you are trustworthy and easygoing.

Emerald
Inspired by the Asscher, this glamorous choice is also a rectangular step-cut shape. It has fewer facets than some of the other shapes, so look for an emerald-cut that offers maximum brilliance.
This choice says you are efficient and straightforward.

Cushion
Rectangular with curved sides, the cushion-cut first hit big in the 18th century. A recent resurgence in popularity has given it a modern-meets-vintage feel.
This choice says you are organized and daring.

Princess
This relatively new square shape, with a modern, understated feel, combines a sparkly, brilliant effect with a geometric step-cut. You can attribute its spectacular glitter to extra faceting around the rim.
This cut says you are decisive and fun-loving.

Radiant
The diamond’s shape has the outer lines and cut corners of the emerald’s crown while enjoying triangular faceting like the round on the pavilion. It was designed to have the best qualities of both round brilliant and emerald cut diamonds.
This cut says you are trend setting and fashionable.

Marquise
The marquis shape is an oval with tips. It not only helps to make the hand appear longer and slimmer, but it also makes the diamond appear larger than it actually is.
This cut says you're unique and adventurous.

Here's all of them together!

All are absolutely gorgeous!!
Hopefully you enjoyed learning a little more about diamonds...
after all they are a girls best friend.

Stripes.

First. Ignore the myth that stripes make you look wider. Recent studies have proved this to be false. So throw that excuse out the door.

Second. Stripes are a great base to pair with mixed prints, such as floral, plaid, polka dots, leopard, other stripes, and so on.

Third. If you are a play it safe kind of person, pair a stripe with a neutral color. You can never go wrong with that.

Fourth. Black and white is a classic, but don't be afraid of other colors.

Here are 3 simple ways to wear stripes...

Stripes on Stripes
Fun. Confident. Sweet.

 Stripes with Prints
Unique. Excitement. Stylish.

Stripes on their own
Classic. Bold. Secure.

Don't be afraid to try stripes!
Stripes work with just about everything and they always look stylish.
Stripes say confidence.
GO STRIPES!

How to wear jeans.

Jeans are the most common worn piece of clothing in the world, so I thought that some facts would be interesting.

Jean Facts:
  • Jeans are the Coca Cola of clothing.
  • May 20th is considered to be the birthday of blue jeans.
  • 215 jeans can be made with only one bale of cotton.
  • Every American owns, on average, 7 pairs of wearable jeans.

Here is a picture example of How to wear jeans...

Hopefully this is something new and interesting for you.

True Beauty.

"The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years."

— Audrey Hepburn

I think its important to always remember that it isn't clothes that make you beautiful. It's what's inside. Fashion is just there to help bring your inside to the surface for everyone to see. Don't ever forget to add you to your fashion! It can be in your accessories, shoes, colors, patterns, cuts, ruffles, pleats, seams, anything. Fashion is there to be fun and to show people who you are. Don't be afraid to shine!

Duo & Trio Waistbelts.

Duo and Trio Waist belts!
First off, remember that a waist belt accentuates your waist as well as your curves, so it is to your advantage. Waist belts are used for flattering your figure! Wear a waist belt either right on your waist or you can even wear it lower on your hips with a long tee.

Waist belts look absolutely fabulous with a button up shirt and a pencil skirt, a cute patterned or plain dress, and they also look good with jeans and a plain long tee. Right now I'm really digging the duo and trio waist belts. I like how skinny they are so it adds more detail and makes the waist look smaller.

All of these belts AND MORE are on sale online at Charolette Russe right now! 1 for $10.50 or 2 for $15.00, then on some of them they are only $5.00! Go check them out!
